Minimum Monthly Basic Salary: HK$29,075
The appointee will mainly be responsible for the planning, development and delivery of distance learning and teaching face-to-face programmes in related disciplines at undergraduate level. Duties will include lecturing in Translation and Interpreting, supervising Translation Projects and supervising distance learning tutors. In addition, he/she may be required to teach English language skills courses. He or she will also be expected to get involve/assist in research activities and participate in University/professional/community services.
Applicants should normally have at least a higher degree, preferably a doctoral degree, in a discipline related to Chinese-English translation, such as comparative literature, literature in English, Sinology, drama/film studies, or linguistics, with relevant professional/teaching experiences. A record of research and publications and involvement in professional and community activities are required.
Terms of Employment
Appointments will initially be made on either a one-year or two-year contract. Appointees may be re-appointed on mutual consent. A one-year package includes monthly basic salary, contract gratuity, annual leave and medical & dental scheme for the appointee. A two-year appointment will be offered a more favourable package.
